Animation competition 2010
If you have viewed the videos’ on our website then it is likely that you will have seen our fabulous animation competition winner’s pre-roll.
The pre-roll animation, that depicts three cats playfully rearranging the words ‘respect animals’ into ‘RSPCA’, was created by Georgina Fox from Newmarket in Suffolk.
If you haven't seen the animation yet take a look at our video library.
About our winner
Georgina is currently studying for a PhD in animation and illustration at Loughborough University. She heard about our competition on Twitter and she knew she had to get involved. Georgina told us:
I’ve always thought that the work the RSPCA do is fantastic and animation is such a huge thing for me. I live and breathe animation.
Georgina, a self-confessed cat lover, explained that she thought about the competition brief and how to show the positive relationship between people and animals, but was ultimately inspired by her cats.
I’d like to dedicate my animation to my six cats, past and present, as they’ve all inspired me with their mad personalities.
I’ve got three cats now - Rox, Marmite and Midnight. Midnight is the white one. The three cats who have passed away are Catanight, Jasmine and Sox (Rox’s sister).
Thank yous
A big 'thank you' to Simon Tofield, creator of Simon's Cat, who generously donated the prizes for our animation competition and took part in the judging.
We would also like to thank our winner Georgina, and all those who entered our competition during 2010, we were very impressed by the standard of entries.
And to those who didn't win, I encourage you to keep an eye out for our next animation competition. Who knows, next time it could be you!
