Justine Pannett
Justine manages the campaigns team at the RSPCA, working to secure political or behavioural change on a range of issues affecting animals.
Justine has been a campaigner for the RSPCA since 2001 and has, among other projects, managed the Society’s puppy trafficking campaign to educate the public about the problems surrounding the trade in puppies, and lobby local authorities to improve the way the license breeding establishments and pet traders.
She also co-ordinated the RSPCA’s high profile campaign to raise awareness of the Animal Welfare Act, when it came into force in 2007, which achieved a 53 per cent increase in public awareness about the change in law.
Additionally, Justine created ‘Pets Get Slim’ the first social networking site to tackle the increasing problem of pet obesity. This was a joint venture with TV vet, Joe Inglis.
Justine and the team are developing their use of social media as a campaigning tool to enhance the RSPCA’s communications via the latest innovations in digital media.
