David Grant

David Grant has been hospital director of the RSPCA Harmsworth Animal Hospital since January 1987. He was awarded the MBE in 1996 for services to animal welfare.

David qualified from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in January 1968. He began his career in farm practice during the Foot and Mouth epidemic of that year, before spending three years at the RSPCA Harmsworth Animal Hospital as a junior vet.

He studied dermatology at the Edinburgh Veterinary School for three years and is a recognised specialist in veterinary dermatology. David also has the Diploma of the Institute of Linguistics in Spanish and has travelled widely in Spain lecturing.

David regularly appeared in the BBC series Animal Hospital.
