We have changed our Privacy Policy
29.05.12
Why have we updated our privacy policy?
The law has changed!
You may have noticed a new link to ‘privacy and cookies’ on the top of the page. We’ve added it because a new law called the EU Online Privacy Directive has come into force.
Put simply this new law, which will be enforced by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), says that we need to ask you before placing cookies in your browser.
What’s a Cookie?
Sadly, in this case it’s not a type of biscuit.
A cookie is a small file which is placed in your browser. They’re not new and they’ve been widely used across the web for some time.
They make websites work, and work more efficiently too, which means you have an easier time online. Because of cookies you can:
- shop online
- register and stay logged in
- add your comments and rate articles.
Cookies also allow websites to see what you have clicked on. So, if you’ve looked into buying a puppy or rehoming a rabbit we can show you information about our pet insurance, because we know you’ll probably be looking for pet insurance too!
For a full list of the cookies we use and what they do visit our cookies and privacy pages.
Can I opt out of cookies?
Absolutely. Your session is just that - yours.
By adjusting the privacy settings in your browser you can decide which cookies to except and which cookies to reject. However you should be aware that some features on websites you visit won’t work without cookies.
Visit the sites below for more information on how to adjust your browser's privacy settings and manage cookies:
We’re only able to provide support for the browsers listed above. For information on how to adjust other browser security settings, please visit your browser provider’s website.
