Just look at Little Bob now!

Remember miracle Bob – one of the tiniest puppies an RSPCA inspector had ever dealt with? Well a few weeks down the line and he is growing up fast – and making some special friends along the way!

Little Bob measured just five inches from neck to bottom when he was found and could fit into the palm of a hand.

He was abandoned in April in the car park of a vet's surgery in High Street, Redbourn, St Albans, Hertfordshire.

But to make matters worse, he had a ruptured eyeball, was completely emaciated and was suffering from sarcoptic mange.

His eye injury was so bad that the eye sadly had to be removed by vets as nothing more could be done to save it.

An amazing new life for Little Bob!

However weeks later Bob is almost unrecognisable and enjoying an amazing new life with RSPCA Inspector Mel Fisher, who has since adopted the adorable mite.

Inspector Fisher said:

"I originally fostered Bob because he was so tiny and needed lots of care and attention.

"But of course once he came to mine it was clear he wouldn't be going anywhere.

How on earth could I say goodbye to him, he is so adorable!"

'He still hasn't grown into either of his ears!'

Mel continued:

He is growing up fast and is now huge compared to how he was and he weighs just over four kilos!

He was so tiny when we found him that we were unsure what breed he was, but now we think he's actually a spaniel-cross.

He still hasn't grown into either of his ears! But he is really clever and is learning loads at the basic training classes he's just started at the RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Centre near Aylesbury.

Little Bob and Piglet are the best of friends

Mel added:

“He's also got a little one-eyed puppy friend he met at the training class called Piglet and they are the best of pals and it is so gorgeous to see them together.”

Piglet is also an RSPCA rescue dog and had to have his eye removed in an operation.

He is partially deaf and, like Little Bob, is also exceptionally small, being described as the runt of his litter.

Appeal for information

We still don't know who abandoned Little Bob
