We are appealing for information after a puppy was set on fire in Peckham, South London, late in the afternoon on Thursday, 11 March.
The brown terrier-type dog was found on the junction of Page's Walk and Mandela Way in Peckham, Southwalk, SE15.
The dog was found about six foot up on a metal wire fence. It appeared to have had a plastic liquid-like substance poured onto its back and been set alight.
RSPCA Inspector Rebecca London is investigating. She said:
Someone must have seen something, so we are appealing for anyone who saw someone with a dog in this area to come forward and help us with our investigation.
We are also appealing for information following the discovery of the body of a male spaniel cross, six weeks ago in Winchmore Hill, north London. A post mortem showed that the dog had been repeatedly beaten.
Since then, a brindle Staffordshire bull terrier cross-breed dog was found dumped in Durants Road, Enfield, north London at about 9pm on Monday, 1 March. This was reported to the police, who then contacted us. The body of the dog had a plastic bag tied around its head when it was found.
RSPCA Chief Inspector Simon Osborne said:
These are all horrific acts of cruelty on dogs and we would desperately like to hear from anyone who can help us in our investigations to find the people responsible.
Anyone with information about any of these incidents is urged to contact our 24-hour cruelty line on 0300 1234 999.
All calls are treated in the strictest confidence.
