A diabetic cat that came into RSPCA care via our Home for Life service is seeking someone special to offer her a loving new home in the Birmingham area.

Seven-year-old Rosie has been at the RSPCA Birmingham Animal Hospital since July after her owner passed away.

Rosie's caring owner had put prior thought into what would happen to their beloved cat when they were no longer around, adding a clause to their Will.

Home for Life is our free service which gives people peace of mind that the RSPCA will be there for their pet when they pass away.

All it takes to set up the service is for a pet owner to add a simple clause to their Will instructing that care of their pet is handed over to the RSPCA after their death.

We then take care of the animal while doing all we can to find the animal a loving new home.

About Rosie

When Home for Life pets come into our care they are given a health check, and it was during this examination that it became clear that Rosie was diabetic and requires daily insulin injections and regular vet checks.

A new owner is now sought for Rosie so she can once again enjoy the comforts of home and the best treatment possible for her diabetes.

Jackie Lines, manager at our Birmingham Animal Centre, said:

Rosie is doing well in our care, but it is time for her to leave the confines of the hospital and get back into a home environment.

Rosie is a quiet, gentle cat with specific needs so we are looking for a committed owner who is able to inject her twice a day at set times of the day, as well as bring her back to the hospital for regular vet checks.

We will pay for all the costs of Rosie's veterinary treatment and vet checks throughout her lifetime.

Are you Rosie's perfect match?

Jackie added:

We are hopeful that someone special is out there who lives close to Birmingham Animal Hospital and will fall in love with Rosie and take her home.

If that person has previous experience of looking after a diabetic animal that would be ideal, but training will be giving by the hospital staff on how to inject Rosie.
