An aviation consultancy firm has pledged to support the RSPCA’s vital work by choosing the animal welfare charity as its charity of the year.

CAA International’s Peterborough office has chosen to support the local branch for 2015/16.

...

The 80 employees on site will take part in monthly dress-down days as well as other seasonal events to raise money for the RSPCA’s Peterborough & District Branch.

Branch manager, Paul Markley, said: “Everyone at the branch, including the animals, are very grateful and all the money received goes straight to the animals.

“Donations from CAA will make a big difference to our work and we can’t thank them enough. They are helping to improve the lives of local animals.”

The firm, which is a subsidiary of the UK Civil Aviation Authority, is also encouraging staff to get involved with volunteering by offering them one paid day of leave to help support a charity event.

The RSPCA is funded entirely by public donations and receives no Government money. The charity costs more than £120m a year to run and relies on the generosity of the general public to carry out its vital work.
