Key activities

We are looking for enthusiatic, motivated volunteers to support and cheer on our runners taking part in the London Marathon. We have three specific cheering points to help get our runners through the toughest miles.

The role includes helping to set up and run cheering stations at the marathon, cheering on RSPCA runners and raising awareness of the RSPCA.

Times & preferred duration of commitment

There are three shifts, you can volunteer for more than one shift.

Shift 1 9:00am to 1pm (6 miles, Cutty Sark)
Shift 2 11.30 to 1.30pm (12 miles, Tower Bridge)
Shift 3 1.30pm to 3.30pm (26 miles, Buckingham Palace)

Experience / skills / knowledge / personal qualities required

Enthusiastic and personable. Would suit someone who perhaps wants to get involved in a large fundraising event and support a national charity.

Training provided

Supervision and support from the chief cheerleader coordinating the cheering station. Cheering equipment including cheering sticks and t-shirts will be provided.

Expenses

Some expenses may be claimed if agreed in advance, in accordance with the volunteer expenses policy.
