Cattery Socialiser

To socialise and groom cats in the Animal Centre, working with other volunteers and staff under the direction of the Animal Centre Manager.

RSPCA Kent, Canterbury and District Animal Centre

Key activities

To spend time with allocated cats in the outdoor pens, actively playing with the cats and encouraging mobility from the cat.
In consultation with other volunteers and staff, encourage the cat to socialise and feel comfortable with other people around.
To groom the cats as directed by the Centre.
To keep records updated as directed by the Centre.
To attend appropriate training course required for the role.

Times & preferred duration of commitment

Minimum of 3 hours a week would be preferably but can be flexible.

Experience / skills / knowledge / personal qualities required

No qualifications needed as training will be provided although someone who owns or works with cats would be a bonus.

Training provided

Ongoing training and support will be provided. Volunteers will have the opportunity to attend relevant training courses provided by the RSPCA.
