Experience / skills / knowledge / personal qualities required

Fosterers are so important to the Branch. They not only save us money on expensive private boarding but, more importantly, they help socialise our animals until a new, permanent home is found.
We ask that you have a fair amount of experience in caring for the species of animal you are interested in fostering.
You need to own your own home or if you rent, written permission to foster animals will be required from your landlord.
You must be happy to allow potential adopters to visit and view the animal/s in your care, this is by appointment only and an Animal Welfare Officer can be present.
Fostering can be an extremely rewarding way of volunteering for the Branch. If you feel you can offer loving, temporary accommodation to any of our animals, please do get in touch for further information. We'd love to hear from you!

Training provided

Fosterers are given full support from our Branch Animal Welfare Officers.

Expenses

Food, bedding and other essentials are provided, together with veterinary care. On occasions fosterers may need to transport animals to veterinary appointments if necessary.
