To control and manage the administration of a local RSPCA branch.

Key activities

Trustees serve on the governing body of the charity and have responsibility for controlling the management and running of the branch and its aim to promote and provide animal welfare within the local area.

Times & preferred duration of commitment

Monthly committee meetings and then animal welfare activities in between meetings as time allows. Trustees are elected for a 12 month term at each AGM. Open ended.

Experience / skills / knowledge / personal qualities required

To be a branch trustee you will need to be committed to the RSPCA's objectives. You will need to be able to work with people and have good interpersonal skills. You do not need to be an expert in any area although commitment, common sense and the ability to be impartial is vital. Trustee positions would benefit from people with specific skills such as finance, fundraising, business experience, awareness of employment and/or charity legislation

Training provided

Trustee training and guidance notes are provided.

Reasonable expenses can be reimbursed
