Rosie is a stunning crossbreed around 5 years old. She is in fantastic condition with a coat like cotton wool. We believe she is a mix of Akita and Staffy, as she does sometimes have the same temperment traits of an Akita (e.g. aloofness) but combined with the giddy exuberance of a Staffy. What is quite surprising though is just how comparatively small she is and just how much we love her! Rosie came into our care with another dog after their owner could no longer afford to care for them cor. Rosie is a very bright dog with a wonderful personailty who loves people and is really rather well behaved. Rosie has had some basic training as she knows ‘sit’ and ‘paw’ and she is extremely clean in her kennel. She has been well cared for in the past as she is very good natured and the vets say she is in prime condition. Rosie loves people and is always very excited to see us at the kennels. She does tend to jump up for attention but we are working hard to discourage this behaviour. She is very gentle and loves a big hug once she’s over the excitement of seeing you. Rosie loves going on walks and is generally very calm and controlled and spends most of her time by your side, her recall is selective so we would recommend some self-control training to improve her focus before letting her off lead. She has lived with other dogs but she seems to be happier alone; she tends to stare at other dogs a lot and be a bit weary of them coming too close so for this reason we are looking for a home without any other dogs. sA home without small furry animals is also essential as Rosie is overly interested in cats and wildlife out on walks. Rosie isn’t interested in toys but she does love treats and so is easily motivated by something tasty so learning new commands and playing 'find it' games are enjoyable for all. Her favourite thing is a good cuddle and especially loves having a good bottom scratch! Rosie would be well suited to an active family with lots of time to spend with her. We are looking for a home where she won’t be left for more than 4 hours at a time and where any children are over 10 years old because of her habit of jumping up at people.
