West Hatch Animal Centre

About us

West Hatch Animal Centre © RSPCA

The RSPCA West Hatch Animal Centre occupies part of a 23-acre site that also has a Wildlife Centre. It nestles in beautiful and quiet countryside at West Hatch, east of the county town of Taunton in Somerset. The centre is within easy reach of the M5 at junction 25.

What we do

Here at West Hatch most of the animals have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment by their previous owners. When they come to us they are often nervous of strangers. We spend weeks, sometimes months, looking after them preparing them for a new life and a second chance.

We look after cats, dogs, rabbits and other small domestic animals - at any one time we are caring for over 150 animals.

All our animals are looking for someone to offer them a new home, to be a friend and look after them. In return a pet will offer fun, friendship and loyalty.

It costs the RSPCA over £750 a day to run West Hatch Animal Centre. The RSPCA relies entirely on kind donations from people like you.

If you would like to support us, or you have room in your home and in your heart to take on a rescue animal, please pay us a visit. We look forward to seeing you.
