Putney Animal Hospital
Our history
History of RSPCA Putney Animal Hospital
Putney Animal Hospital in Clarendon Road, Putney, was built in the early 1970s on the site of an existing animal clinic.
The RSPCA funded the building of the Putney Animal Hospital and we continue to supply money so that the hospital can provide a low-cost veterinary service to people on low incomes in the surrounding community.
In the 1990s, the work of the RSPCA-funded animal hospitals was brought to the attention of the general public through the BBC programme, Animal Hospital, hosted by Rolf Harris. The series, which spanned 10 years, was filmed at Putney Animal Hospital from 1997 – 2000.
