Merthyr Tydfil Clinic
What we do
Services provided
Merthyr Tydfil Animal Clinic provides a veterinary service for sick or injured owned, stray and wildlife animals.
Individuals who live in the clinic’s catchment areas and who are also on certain benefits, or who are on a low income, can bring their animals to the clinicwhere they will receive a high quality, low-cost veterinary service.
For advice, the animal clinic is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Clients do need to make an appointment to see the vet and vet appointments are available from 9am to 10.30am, and 2.30pm to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Clients will be asked to show evidence that they are in receipt of benefits or that they are on a low income every time they visit the clinic. Out of hours care is provided by a local private veterinary surgery only for clients already registered at the clinic.
In addition to providing a veterinary service for the community in Merthyr and the surrounding area, the clinic also treats sick or injured, neglected, stray or wild animals. These animals are brought to the animal clinic by our inspectorate, as well as by members of the public.
Clinic facilities
Merthyr Tydfil Animal Clinic has two consulting rooms, four animal wards and one operating theatre, as well as x-ray facilities.
Medicines prescribed by the veterinary surgeon at the clinic, as well as flea and worming treatments, can be purchased from the dispensary.
