From Merthyr Tydfil take the A4054 South. At the roundabout on Pentebach Road (still the A4054) take the 3rd Exit. At the next roundabout take the third exit, onto The Willows. Continue down this road and RSPCA Merthyr Tydfil Clinic will be on your left.

From the South - Abercanaid/Edwardsville

From Abercanaid take the A4054 North. At the roundabout on Merthyr Road(still the A4054) take the 1st exit.
At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto The Willows. Continue on this road and RSPCA Merthyr Tydfil Clinic will be on your left.

Facts and figures

Merthyr Tydfil Animal Clinic provides consultations, neutering, microchipping, operations and dentistry to a large number of owned animals.

The clinic has treated a wide variety of animals including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, hamsters, parrots and ferrets. On occasions the clinic has even cared for reptiles such as snakes and a water dragon; however at the moment the clinic is unable to offer treatment to exotic animals or reptiles.
 

Not all animals arrive at the clinic with an owner and every year a number of needy animals are admitted. These are not always cats and dogs and can include wildlife casualties such as foxes, wild birds, hedgehogs and bats.

 

Annually around 5,500 outpatient appointments are made at clinics, and just over 1,000 animals are admitted into the clinic for operations or nursing.

Funding Merthyr Tydfil Animal Clinic

The RSPCA receives no government funding and we depend entirely on the generosity of our supporters, local branches and the Welsh Board to continue with our work protecting and treating animals, including the running of our animal clinics and hospitals. 
 

Merthyr Tydfil Animal Clinic provides a low-cost veterinary service, and customer payments for treatment do not cover the full costs involved.

The animal clinic at Merthyr is named after Molly Wilson, Honorary Secretary of the RSPCA Glamorgan North and East Branch, who supported the building of the facility on its current site. The branch, as well as the national charity, continue to support the work at the clinic.
