Blackberry Farm Animal Centre

Adoption

The centre takes in many animals who have been rescued from cruelty and neglect but sadly also animals who have simply been abandoned.

Like these fours cats on the bank of the River Thames. The two adult cats and two kittens were found dumped in a cardboard box in the Friars Wharf area of Oxford. All four were in reasonable health, but had they been left any longer they could have suffered from dehydration or starvation.

Caring for our animals

It can take weeks and sometimes months to rehabilitate these animals. Our staff and volunteers work hard to ensure every animal that comes through our doors will find their Perfect Match.

Like little Kassy! When Kassy came into our care she was just four months old. She had some horrendous injuries, including a broken leg and an large open wound, and it took weeks of veterinary treatment and lots of TLC to make her feel better.

We successfully prosecuted the people responsible for her suffering, who received a five-year-ban on keeping dogs.

Haven spend over a year in our care while her case was decided in court, it was no surprise that staff member Bridget fell in love with Kassy and offered her a loving home.

All our animals are looking for someone to offer them a new home, to be a friend and look after them. In return a pet will offer fun, friendship and loyalty.

Viewing animals online

To view some of the animals in our care, please visit our online Pet Search facility on the top right corner of the page.

Our Centre is always full, but sometimes there may only be a few animals available for adoption. This is because the other animals are still subject to criminal prosecution and waiting for their cases to be heard in court, or undergoing rehabilitation.
Please visit our online Pet Search facility on a regular basis for animals seeking new homes.

If have room in your home and in your heart to take on a rescue animal, please pay us a visit. We look forward to seeing you.
