Guilty plea for animal suffering

A Toddington woman was banned from keeping animals for life in August 2012 after she pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to her three boxer dogs.

The woman also admitted failing to meet the dogs’ needs by keeping them in an environment which was contaminated by urine and faeces.

Four-year-old Louis, eight-year-old Meg and two-year-old Muppet were all found to be suffering due to a lack of adequate nutrition.

Despite the woman’s claims that the trio were underweight due to an active lifestyle, they had overgrown claws and a lack of muscle which showed they had not been exercised enough.

In addition to the ban, she was ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work and to pay £500 towards costs.

Second chance for rescued boxers

With proper diet, exercise and lots of TLC Louis, Meg and Muppet were all able to make a full recovery.

All three have been given a second chance of a better, more fulfilling life.

Investigating RSPCA Inspector Mel Fisher said:

These dogs were shut in one room for long periods of time without access to food. They had a poor quality of life and have now all found happy new homes with caring owners.
