Housing: a good practice guide
The RSPCA’s new pet guidance for social landlords is now available to download. The booklet titled, Housing: a good practice guide, has been launched to coincide with the start of the Community Animal Welfare Footprints (CAWF) 2010.
Download the booklet here:
The booklet has been produced to provide a guidance to landlords who are seeking to update, review and improve their current pets policy and is packed with living examples of good practice from CAWF Footprint achieving landlords across England and Wales.
We do not want landlords to discourage pets where facilities exist for their proper care. However controls are necessary to prevent irresponsible pet ownership, which can cause suffering for animals and a nuisance to neighbours.
What we hope is that the booklet will create more Footprint achieving landlords, who have clear and positive pets policies, that are both enforceable and well enforced.
If you have trouble downloading the document above, or wish to find out more about either improving your current pets policy or entering the Community Animal Welfare Footprints 2010, please email cawf@rspca.org.uk.
