Strength in tough times

We've been stretched to the limit during the ongoing economic situation. But our unwavering commitment to animal welfare has remained as strong as ever...

Confronting animal cruelty

Lurcher Maggie May, pictured on the right with RSPCA Inspector Clare Wilson, suffered horrendously at the hands of her previous owner and his friends.

Unfortunately Maggie May's story isn't unique and in 2011 we investigated a staggering 159,759 cruelty complaints and secured 3,114 convictions against people who were cruel to animals.

Where welfare is the priority

Work for poorly animals continued unabated as expert staff in our hospitals, branches and clinics treated more than 200,000 animals.

Going home

Finding new, loving homes for the animals in our care was, as ever, a priority. And in 2011 60,551 animals were given the second chance they deserved.
