Why choose the RSPCA?

For almost two centuries, people in England and Wales have known that they can trust the RSPCA to step in and act on animal welfare issues. Our Inspectors are the first point of contact if an animal is being ill-treated or neglected. And our campaigns have successfully changed the laws.

Unlike other charities, we are here for all animals at risk of cruelty or neglect. We always try to respond to calls for help, whether it’s an abandoned puppy found in a bin-bag, or a beach full of birds covered in oil.

Since the 2007 Animal Welfare Act, the workload of RSPCA inspectors, animal welfare officers (AWOs), animal centre staff and vets has increased dramatically.

Legacies are vital to our ability to meet these growing needs well into the future.
