Christmas Cards and Seasonal Promotions
The RSPCA are exceptionally lucky to receive a substantial income each year from the sale of seasonal cards and gifts through publishing houses and high street retailers.
Special Editions, a division of UK Greetings, are a leading direct to retail publisher and greeting card manufacturer who produce a range of Easter and Christmas cards, sold to benefit the RSPCA. Their charity Christmas collections offer retailers both boxed and cello packs of cards at a range of price points. RSPCA are very grateful for the significant contribution made by UK Greetings each year.
Ceri Stirland from Special Editions comments,
Special Editions are the charity and own brand Christmas packaged card division of UK Greetings and are constantly delivering exciting and innovative product.
Every year Special Editions donate approximately £400,000 to charity from the sale of their Christmas and Easter cards. Last year they donated approximately £80,000 to the RSPCA to fund a number of worthwhile projects. We selected RSPCA as one of our five charities to work with because they do such a marvellous job caring for animals and we know 85p out of every £1 goes to animal welfare.
Since 2006, the John Lewis Partnership have chosen the RSPCA as one of 4 charities to benefit from the sale of Christmas cards, money boxes and gift boxed mugs. In 2007, Waitrose joined John Lewis to extend the range of cards benefiting the same charities. Despite the economic downturn, the contribution from both these prestigious high street retailers continues to grow each year.
As well as large publishers and retailers, many smaller companies offer RSPCA Christmas charity cards too. Even though the contribution from each card or pack of cards may seem small to consumers, the volume of cards sold during the Christmas season mean that the overall income generated significantly helps the RSPCA’s annual fundraising efforts.
