Scholastic Children's Books
Scholastic Children's Books are producing a special range of RSPCA fiction, non-fiction and annuals for children aged seven and older and a range of sticker books for four-to-five-year-olds. The books will be published over the next two years, with the first-ever RSPCA Annual already available from online and high street book stores. Crammed with treats for animal lovers, from a day in the life of a vet and true animal rescues to posters, puzzles and games, publication of the RSPCA Annual is perfectly timed for the Christmas market. The RSPCA logo will be featured prominently on the front of each book along with the message ‘Buying this book helps the RSPCA save animals’ lives’.
The range will be sold through supermarkets and high street, independent and online bookshops, as well as specialist pet retailers.
The RSPCA’s licensing manager Cathy Snow comments: “Scholastic’s aim from the outset was to produce a series of books that educate and entertain in a way that is entirely appropriate to the age group of the readers. At the same time Scholastic and the RSPCA have worked together to ensure that each book combines good animal welfare advice with a wonderful reading experience for young children. We are delighted with the results — and we think young readers will be too.”
Hilary Murray Hill, MD of Scholastic Children’s Books, said: “Scholastic is delighted to partner the UK’s most popular animal charity. We know children are passionate about animals. Our books are designed to enhance young readers’ appreciation of them and to support responsible pet ownership. Furthermore, for every book sold, Scholastic will donate a minimum of 15p to the RSPCA to help save animals’ lives. We are thrilled to be working with the RSPCA to save animal’s lives and to be launching our exciting partnership.”
