Freedom Food on more MPs' radar
An RSPCA Parliamentary reception during the early summer gave Freedom Food marketing manager Liam Kurzeja the opportunity to meet over 40 MPs – including Mary Creagh, shadow Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Secretary – to discuss current affairs and the animal welfare agenda.
Importantly, the event attracted both supportive and new MPs wanting to find out more about the RSPCA and Freedom Food, giving the added pportunity of informing and influencing opinion across the wider political landscape.
It was a really useful opportunity to engage with some of our key stakeholders, those with real influence in the area of improving animal welfare,” Liam told Focus. “A myriad of animal welfare topics were covered including many important and current farm animal issues.
And proving that talking to influential people can have far-reaching effects, almost half of those that attended the event posted online blogs to carry the message forward to constituents and beyond.
