As part of their continuing efforts to increase public awareness of the Freedom Food scheme, the team have been working closely with the RSPCA’s political affairs department to encourage new Members of Parliament (MPs) to visit local Freedom Food farms and help them get a better understanding of higher welfare farming.

Freedom Food marketing manager Liam Kurzeja helped host one of the most recent visits by new Conservative MP for Tiverton and Honiton Neil Parish to Kenniford Farm near Exeter.

MP visits have proved a great success and helped create more awareness of the scheme and forge important links with some key decision-makers,” said Liam. “In addition to my visit to Devon, our Scottish Freedom Food assessor Malcolm Johnstone, hosted Labour MP for Glasgow North East Willie Bain on a successful fact-finding mission to a Freedom Food salmon farm in Oban, western Scotland.
