Join Freedom Food

If you are interested in joining Freedom Food our dedicated team are here to help make the application process as simple and as time-saving. There are specific RSPCA welfare standards for laying hens, chickens, turkeys, ducks, salmon, pigs, sheep, beef and dairy cattle. If you are a mixed livestock farmer please complete a separate application for each species you would like to rear under the Freedom Food farm assurance scheme.

Step 1: Preparation

Contact Freedom Food on 0300 123 0014 to request a starter pack or for further information and advice. Alternatively you can download relevant application forms from the right hand panel or view the latest welfare standards and veterinary health plans online.

Step 2: Application

Return the completed application form along with your membership fee and Freedom Food will contact you to arrange a detailed assessment.

Step 3: Assessment

Once the assessment is complete, your assessor will explain if any corrective action is necessary. You are given eight weeks to amend any non-compliance and submit the required evidence. As soon as the Certification Panel is satisfied that all RSPCA welfare standards have been met, you will be sent a signed certificate confirming full membership for 12 months.
 
All members receive an annual assessment upon renewal and are subject to monitoring visits by RSPCA Farm Livestock Officers.
