Yes, as long as they meet the RSPCA welfare standards. However, certain systems, such as caged egg production, are strictly prohibited. Our aim is to improve the welfare of all farm animals, whether they are kept indoors or outdoors. Having taken advice from welfare scientists, veterinary experts and those with practical farming experience, the RSPCA believes that appropriately designed and well-managed indoor systems can provide for an animal's key welfare requirements.
