Basic welfare needs and sentience

Young people may become involved in cruelty to animals for a variety of reasons. The activities below address each of these contributing factors.

  In this activity, the young person will discover that animals and humans have the same basic needs.
• Feelings

  In this activity, young people look at animals in different scenarios. They consider how they would feel in each situation and then consider how the animal might feel.
• What's your view?

  In this activity, young people have the opportunity to share their opinions about animals.
