How do animals help us?
- This activity is just one part of a range of resources addressing the needs of young people who have been involved, or who are at risk of being involved, in cruelty to animals. Our online assessment tool Developing a suitable intervention programme (Word 17KB) will help you create individualised intervention programmes from these resources.
- In this activity, the young person thinks about how animals help people today and how they have helped us in the past.
- The young person will develop the understanding that:
- animals have been very useful and valuable to people for many years
- animals can provide assistance to people
- some animals have special qualities that make them particularly good at certain jobs
- without animals some people – including the young person him or herself and people they know – would be affected.
- Before you do this activity, we recommend you do the Everyday objects activity in this section.
