How does the RSPCA support teachers?
RSPCA Education is a completely free service for teachers that raises awareness of animals and animal welfare issues.
Our education website offers a wide variety of lesson plans, linked to the English and Welsh curricula.
We also have a team of education, training and development advisers (ETDAs) who offer Initial Teacher Training (ITT) and INSET involving active participation in workshops to:
- raise awareness of animals and animal issues
- demonstrate how animal welfare can be used as a focus or context for the delivery of the National Curriculum.
As we focus on training teachers, we are unable to provide one-off talks and sessions as part of this scheme. You can find details of your local ETDA in the About us section of our website.
