Who goes where? Part 2

Aims and objectives

This lesson is intended to follow up and extend work done in Who goes where? Part 1. It encourages pupils to think about how animals are suited to a particular environment.

Curriculum objectives

Pupils should learn:

  • to consolidate knowledge gained from their investigation of what types of animals and plants live in a particular habitat
  • to learn how animals are suited to a particular environment.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this session:

  • most pupils will: recognise that different plants and animals live in the local environment, be able to name some of these, record observations and use these to draw conclusions
  • some pupils will not have made so much progress and will: recognise that different plants and animals live in the local environment, name some of them and make observations of plants and animals, recording these with help
  • some pupils will have progressed further and will also: suggest reasons why different plants and animals are found in different environments.
