Aims and objectives

These activities introduce pupils to the effect that human actions can have on both animals and their environments.
 

Curriculum objectives

Pupils should learn:

  • to understand that humans have a responsibility to ensure the well-being of animals, including minibeasts
  • to recognise ways in which living things and the environment need protection. 

Learning outcomes

At the end of this session:

  • most pupils will: begin to appreciate the ways in which humans have a responsibility towards all animals - wild animals, farm animals and pets etc
  • some pupils have not made so much progress and will: appreciate that humans have a responsibility to look after animals properly
  • some pupils have progressed further and will: appreciate the ways in which humans have a responsibility towards all animals and know how to protect wild animals.
