Charities and volunteers
This lesson looks at the work of charities and voluntary organisations and the importance of volunteers.
Curriculum objectives
Pupils should learn:
- about voluntary/charitable organisations and why we need them
- what a volunteer is and how they are important to charities.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this lesson:
- most pupils: understand the role of voluntary organisations/charities. They know that we all have a responsibility towards animals, and that there are laws to protect them
- some pupils have not made so much progress and: understand the role of voluntary organisations/charities
- some pupils have progressed further and: understand the role of voluntary organisations/charities and why we need them. They investigate a chosen voluntary/charitable organisation, and are aware of the breadth of its work.
