Calling all youth justice professionals!

The RSPCA will be holding its second annual status dog summit from 29-30th November 2010 at the Scarman Training and Conference Centre in Coventry.


Who will be there?
The conference is aimed at police, local authorities, youth offending teams and housing providers; with the purpose of developing and sharing good practice in tackling the destructive epidemic of dog-fighting affecting Britain today. 

The schedule
Day one will comprise:

  • A presentation from Cardiff University on young peoples’ motivations to own status dogs
  • An opportunity to hear Defra Minister Lord Henley speak
  • A Q&A panel with local authority representatives, the police, the RSPCA and Cardiff University.

Day two will comprise:

  • A series of workshops looking at several issues, including:
  1. Early intervention ideas
  2. Kennel management
  3. Enforcement of the current law.
