Frances Veness rehomed Stan, a labradoodle puppy, from our Danaher Animal Home in December 2011.
We could tell you how they make a perfect match, or you could just read Frances’ letter to us below - she says it much better than we ever could!
A perfect match
"Sadly, we lost our rescue dog Jake in October 2011, leaving our home not quite the same since. We set out to find a new four-legged friend for our black labrador, Isla, who had become increasingly lonely.
"Happily, we couldn’t have found a better dog to become the latest addition to our family. Bouncy labradoodle Stan (who recently turned one) has breathed a breath of fresh air into Isla, who now spends hours running around and playing games with Stan in the garden.
"It’s not taken long for Stan’s personality to blossom - and what a mischievous puppy he is! Where he can, he likes to sneak items from around the house and bring them to us as presents.. teddies, toys, and especially slippers! Stan absolutely loves his toys, even now as I write this his favourite green ring is next to him while he’s sleeping.
"When he’s not looking for mischief, playing ball in the garden or running around excitedly on his walks, Stan loves his cuddles. On returning home we’re always pleased to be greeted by Stanley wiggling and wagging towards us. He absolutely loves a fuss, in fact he’s a bit of an attention hog! He makes us laugh when he rubs up against our legs like a cat and makes funny little noises almost like purring! Mornings will never be the same again - especially when a typical greeting is Stan ambushing me and playfully tugging me along in my dressing gown.
Loveable Stan has fit perfectly into our home, but the best part for us is how much he loves his new best friend Isla. He never wants to be without her and they never sleep apart - either cuddled up on their dog bed or squished up in the basket (a very funny sight) they are never apart!"
