Ollie, an albino guinea pig, was rehomed from our Millbrook Animal Centre in August 2012 at about three months old.
The Cox family adopted Ollie as a companion for their guinea pig Lily, as their other guinea pig Maisy had sadly passed away. Maisy was also adopted from Millbrook Animal Centre three years ago.
We had to gradually introduce Lily and Ollie to each other. We were lucky enough to have a spare hutch so we kept swapping them over to get used to each other’s smells.
After two weeks we put them together and thankfully they accepted each other, now they share the big hutch together.
Initially Ollie was very quiet and had been rehomed once and been returned for the same reason. However after being rehomed with the Cox’s, he has come out of his shell. He now recognises voices and allows his new owners to hold him and feed him directly from their hands.
