Bouncer
During the early part of 2009 experienced dog owners Karen Perks and Dave Prewer contacted us. They wanted to help the animals in our care by offering a temporary home to them through our fostering service.
This moment completely changed the life of one very special dog named Bouncer.
Bouncer’s story
Bulldog-cross Bouncer came into the care of our Southridge Animal Centre, having been kept confined to a very small garden. He was in an extremely bad way both physically and emotionally.
Kennel life only seemed to make matters worse, so The Friends of Southridge Animal Centre arranged for Bouncer to be fostered by volunteers Karen and Dave.
An amazing recovery
In the video below you will see how much of a difference foster care can make to an animal in desperate need of a second chance.
A brighter future
After everything Karen and Dave had been through with Bouncer they couldn’t bear to part with him.
The now affectionate and loveable Bouncer has a permanent home with the foster carers who turned his life around.
Karen said:
It’s been quite a journey. And a really lovely one. Bouncer is such an adorable, loyal, wonderful dog now.
He really made a big impact on our lives too. So much so that I’ve just completed a dog training course and now help to teach dog training techniques to others.
Our lives have completely changed because of him. We can’t imagine life without him now.
I’ve never had a bond with a dog quite like I have with Bouncer.
Could you foster an animal and turn their life around?
Many of the animals who come into our care have been the victims of neglect or cruelty. Foster care gives animals like these a better chance of a new life.
If you would like to become a volunteer fosterer search for volunteer vacancies near you.
Thank you.
