Meet Charmer

Charmer was rescued by the RSPCA with his mum and approximately 60 other horses when their owner failed to meet their needs.

Gelded, fresian-cross, Charmer is a bay with a mealy muzzle.

Once fully grown he will reach approximately 14.3 - 15hh.

Clare Lewcock was looking for a companion for her own young horse, Max, to grow up with.

Clare approached our Gonsal Farm Equine Centre and offered to become one of our fantastic foster carers.

She is now fostering Charmer on a smallholding with sheep, pigs and, of course, Max.

Clare says:

When I first got Charmer my youngster Max wasn’t gelded and Charmer would hide behind me then shoot out and take a nip at Max’s neck then dart back behind me for protection - which is really naughty!

Now Max has been gelded they get on really well and just play all the time. They share a stable together, eat together - do everything together.

Charmer is definitely the braver of the two - he hasn’t been phased by much at all. He’s really good to have around as he’s giving my own horse Max confidence.
