Amersham horses

Warning: This video contains upsetting images.

In January 2008 more than 100 horses, ponies and donkeys were removed from horrific conditions at Spindle Farm near Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

Since then the horses have been lovingly cared for and rehabilitated by the RSPCA, Redwings Horse Sanctuary, World Horse Welfare and The Horse Trust

In June this year, once the court case was over, we began the search for permanent new owners for the horses we have been looking after at our animal centres across England and Wales.

And thanks to the success of our Amersham Horses Rehoming Appeal, we have now found special new homes for these horses.

In fact we had such a positive response to our rehoming appeal, that we’ve also found loving new homes for another 80 horses and ponies in our care.

We hope to bring you news of how some of the Amersham horses and ponies are settling into their new homes so please check back here soon.

A BIG THANK YOU!

We had a phenomenal response to our Amersham Horses Rehoming Appeal and would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported it.

To those of you who expressed an interest in rehoming one of the Amersham horses and completed the application form, thank you so much for your time and patience.

To those who chose to support the appeal and our animal welfare work by making a donation, thank you for your generosity.

And to those of you who have followed this cruelty case from beginning to end, thank you for your interest and support. We hope you will continue to support us.

If you would still like to help...

This has been one of our biggest investigations ever. The case has cost the RSPCA £2.3million in legal fees, veterinary bills and the animals' care.

It is only thanks to your generous donations that we are able to help animals like these.

If you would like to make a donation to our Amersham Horses Appeal you can:

We can’t do it without you - thank you for your support.
