Google Chrome

How to clear your browsing history

From the Wrench icon in the top right-hand corner of the browser window, select Tools > Clear Browsing Data.

A new tab opens entitled Options with a warning window. Select the time range to clear from the drop-down list in the window.

Select the type of data you wish to delete by ticking the boxes, and then select Clear Browsing Data.

The window will automatically close leaving the new Options tab in the Under The Bonnet section where you can amend further settings if you wish. Otherwise you can close the tab.

Private browsing

Google Chrome also give the option of Incognito mode, a version of private browsing. When you’re using Incognito mode no history is recorded for a particular session.

To set this click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar > select New incognito window.

NB. Incognito mode isn't automatic and has to be turned on for each session.
